I discussed this with my insurance company. The agent I spoke to had not even heard that the FESL was coming off insurance. I suggested he spoke to his manager but he assured me that I must be wrong because he would have been told. That insurance company is Brisbane based and of course the change only affects NSW

I pay monthly for my insurance so as far as I am concerned, I have been contributing throughout 2016/7 towards the FESL. They have only changed the rules since it got added to the rates-they obviously had to have a common start date. With a renewal date of June 24th i feel it would be unfair to have to pay the levy.Given an earlier renewal date, I would have just paid up..
