This is an entirely one-sided discussion about the costs and values of embedded electricity networks.  I’m an owner-occupier but I’ve also (because I work in another city) been a customer of a building’s embedded network owned by the strata body.  One of my friends who owned a unit in the complex paid zero strata levies, as the Body Corporate was funded entirely out of the profits of the embedded network.  In large multi-storey multi-unit complexes only the Body Corporate can install and benefit from solar panels and (probably) batteries.  The combination of solar panels and battery storage is one of the models for our energy future; combine that with an embedded network and you have an optimal solution in my opinion.  Brushing the idea off as “selfish bodies corporate failing their occupants” is a rather superficial approach
