It seems we have an amateur spray painter living at our strata complex in NSW. I had noticed 12 months ago the amateur spray painter had been doing some spray painting on the car they had at the time. The next day I noticed there was some over spray on the concrete in the garage area outside his garage.
I raised this as an issue to our strata manager (SM) that the tenant had not taken adequate precautions for over spray and that I was concerned that damage could occur to my property (from the over spray), including my car, my garage is immediately next to the amateur spray painters garage.
The garage doors in our complex use perforated metal in the lower half of the door, I assume for ventilation. I don’t believe these doors would offer any protection from spray paint. I also asked that the SM take this matter up with the tenants property manager and that the tenant be advised to not do this again. Matter closed I thought.
Fast forward to yesterday and this tenant now has a different car, but is again spray painting it in exactly the same location as last time with little concern for over spray to anything other than their vehicle. The amateur spray painter claims it is some rubber in a aerosol can product and not paint, but does that really make a difference? The fumes from this spraying were quite overwhelming as you would expect with this sort of activity. I asked the amateur spray painter to stop what they were doing. For my own records I took some photos of what they were doing, which they objected to. All the while they get out what appears to be their phone, it seems they may have been making an audio and/or video recording of the conversation.
I brought up the issue that they had spray painted a previous car leaving over spray and that they should have been advised to not do it again, but the tenant denied any knowledge of a previous complaint.
In the end I moved my car out of my garage and on to the road, and hopefully out of harm’s way.
A little while later, I went to move my car again and they have now moved out onto the road, where I took the following photos of the spraying that they were doing. I also advised the amateur spray painter that I do not consent to the amateur spray painter making a recording of my voice and to delete any conversation they may have previously recorded.
Here are the photos of their spraying:
Sorry Blueman – but even though one of the other “Gurus” had approved your post, it’s possible that just as you were concerned about the spray painters recording your conversations, they may be also concerned about being identified in the photographs that you attached for publication here, so for better of for worse I deleted those. They didn’t add very much to your post, and perhaps it’s better to be sure than for Jimmy to be sorry….Whale 2045.
For a bit of further background information about them, the amateur spray painter and partner are also part of the parking cheats brigade in our complex, but that is a whole other story.
Regards,
Blueman
