Where can i ask for a land plan for common property?? (please tell me if its called something else)

What reasons am i allowed to ask for one? We have one neighbour who says my visitors are not allowed to park in our parking lot which is blank!! It doesnt not have unit numbers and does not belong to anybody.. My rental agency tells me it is visitors parking!! I just want to say to that neighbour with proof its visitors parking please stop putting up homemade signs on other peoples cars!! I dont want strata to be involved really because then they might kick us out of the parking lot we all use to park in at night time.. We live in a large ppopluation small city with high crime rate.. It would be ugly to park outside..thankyou

Go there. I did this morning. You'll need the number of your strata plan. You may need to buy the actual strata plan and also buy whatever's in its 'dealings' section, which will tell you if any resolutions have given exclusive use to other owners. Probably best to 1. Go to the site. 2. Call them on the 1300 number. 3. Tell them what you want to establish  / find out. They're pretty cool.

If this is visitors car spaces then your visitors have the right to park there when visiting.  However, if these are visitors only car spaces, then you (nor any other resident) has the right to park there overnight!

Alternatively, some complexes I know of have residents only parking on the premises.  Then no visitors parking is allowed.

You previously posted regarding parking on common property, that being the driveway out the front of your unit.  Visitors parking is also common property.  Residents parking that is not numbered would I assume be a first in best dressed basis.  Then parking “outside” may be the only option.

Dear Pink/Purple, your council dictates how many visitor spaces you must have so you must comply with that. Your strata manager will be able to provide you with Strata Plan for your building.
