Editing your posts

I realise I am opening a can of worms here, but I have extended the time in which you can edit your posts, after you have posted them, to THREE hours.

The reason for that is that I have failed in my efforts to clean out the coding that arrives with material that has been cut and pasted from another source.

I’m talking about stuff like this:
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I have not been able to find any published cases …  the new Act came into force.</p>
I realise that you don’t know how your posts are going to appear on this website, and you have to wait until they have been moderated before you can see them, so please check back and have a look once they have been approved (hence the three hours).

On the other hand, if you are copying and pasting a lot of material, why not drop the text into a text-only (.txt) document first? That would make life easier for everyone. If you do go in and edit, your post goes back into moderation, so better to get it right first time.

Also, this gives you a chance to fix spelling and grammatical errors.

But it’s not there for you to change what you have said when someone has pointed out that you are wrong.

OK?  Let’s give this a go as I’m spending way too much time cleaning up coded posts.
