Hi we just moved out and had the carpet cleaned and fumigation done a week later and handed our keys in after the fumigation was done. The inspection revealed the flea treatment didn’t kill the fleas. A second flea treatment was done with the explanation that the vibrations of people and animals causes the fleas to hatch and come into contact with the poison. Is this common knowledge? We were unaware that it takes two weeks of vibrations in the property to kill the cycle of fleas. Our lease states ” the tenant agrees to have the carpets professionally steam cleaned and the property professionally fumigated for fleas inside and outside by a licenced pest control company, at the end of the tenancy.”
Now they want us to pay for a third powdered fumigation which will incur possible cleaning fees. There is still no one making the required vibrations. Are we responsible for this ongoing problem?
