It’s worse than it was before. We’ve had a new strata manager for 5 months. Everything is signed over to them; all functions, Secretary, Treasurer, Chairman etc. I think the contract goes for a couple of years, the maximum allowable anyway.
We’re supposed to talk to the Strata Manager first about anything; not allowed to contact the committee directly and most residents don’t even know who they are, let alone how to contact them. But when you ask the Strata Manager about something (such as a water leak or plumbing problem) it takes ages for anything to happen. SM says “I have to run it by the committee and they haven’t got back to me yet’. It’s a terrible situation and I’m not exaggerating.
How can we (yes ‘we’, I’m not the only unhappy one) get these bl–dy, self-interested seat warmers to do the job they put their hands up and volunteered for??? The Strata Manager seems to be protecting them.
I might add they are, I’m told, very active in hassling the SM to get their own insurance apartments repairs done, paid for by Owners Corporation insurance. And they wash their cars on common property where signs say don’t; their cats roam freely through illegal cat doors and dogs are off the lead in the busy car park / walkway. In short, because these people are on the committee they do what they like.
