Could somebody please advise:
Few owners asked for an EGM to be conducted on a specific date. The strata manager was not sure, if he will be able to send the agenda out 14 days before the meeting.
We suggested to him to send it to all owners electronically.
The answer we receive was:“Let me correct you. It can only be issued electronically if you have passed a by-law to allow this. It cannot be sent electronically and then posted.”
Anyway the strata manager managed to mail the agenda 14 days before the EGM.
Some of the motions required quotes. The strata manager stated in the agenda that the quotes will be supplied at least one week prior to the meeting. He didn’t include them with the agenda. The quotes were supplied to the OC one week prior to the meeting by one owner electronically.
My question is:
Shouldn’t the quotes be supplied with the agenda together and posted to the owners by the strata manager when he sent out the agenda?
On one hand the strata manager is stating that the agenda needs to be posted, because we don’t have by-law in place to allow to sent it electronically, on the other hand he is allowing the quotes to be emailed to the OC one week prior to the meeting.
Can you please advise, if this is correct that the agenda was posted and the quotes emailed. Shouldn’t it be either or?Alinka
