Older, riverfront complex in Brisbane. Hot water systems were destroyed and replaced post Feb floods. I’m apparently the only unit with lack of constant pressure and stable temperature control.

During a 8 minute shower the flow lengthens and shortens about 30cm when hitting the floor, and falls to 40C and rises to 46C on it’s own – which means constantly adjusting it up and back during use to stop chilling or boiling.

It never was like this previously and is obviously affected by other tenants use of water. Installing plumbers, Rheem, and property manger are just not that interested but surely this is not sufficient and acceptable?

To whom and how should I get this addressed please?

Take it to the committee before the warranty runs out.  It’s clearly not fit for purpose – but maybe they authorised a cheap installation.  But’s common property and that means the committee needs to tell the property manager to extract the digit and put in a claim.

Meanwhile canvass other owners to see if they are suffering similar issues.

Thanks for the advice. Shall do. The Rheem bloke attended and advised what they needed. Seems legislation limits the max temperature but you’d think they still need get around the pressure to ensure the thing works in all units. The installing plumbers were zipping around the carpark on a motorised beer Esky and (surprisingly!) haven’t since been able to rectify the issue when called back. They’ve been asked to address it by the property people numerous times but seem to be just shrugging their shoulders.
