Hello, I have filed a claim with NCAT to recover losses due to waterproofing defects in a property I own. I need an expert to prove that the property is uninhabitable because of mould and water ingress. Finding specialists who are qualified and experienced in these areas have been very difficult. Can anyone recommend an expert(s) that can help with my situation? Many thanks in advance. This has been the most challenging ordeal.

I am going to suspend our ban on people naming contractors (or themselves) on this Forum so that this person can get the assistance they need.  However, if you are telling them who to avoid, send a personal message.

Thanks so much, Jimmy-T. I appreciate it.

Recommendations for experts that provide mould inspections/assessments/testing and preferrably experience with NCAT would be so helpful.

I understand that Occupational Hygienists provide these services and can make habitability determinations. Those that I’ve reached out to aren’t familiar or experienced with NCAT. I assume its because most of their work/clients are commercial vs residential. However this is the direction I’ve been moving in. Anyone have thoughts or experience with this?

Ultimately, I’m open to use whatever expert will provide the strongest support in NCAT proceedings, and would love advice from others’ experiences with the process.

I’ve been contacted by Edwina Feilen  from a company called Sedgwick who says:

“I saw the message about someone needing assistance in this space on the latest issue but am unable to register or log in. My organisation specialising in many aspects of assisting our clients and including strata deal with many building related issues including that relating to mould and would be happy to help. Not sure how to reach out to the person needing assistance. If you can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.
