We are a 32 unit block in NSW.
About 10 years ago we installed what we considered modern mail boxes.
However over the past year or so we have had mail stolen from our boxes and upon investigation it appears that someone has a key or some device that can open our locks.
We are now attempting to find a high security lock to secure these boxes and at the moment it appears that the cost would be around $ 30 per box.
The cost is not the issue but rather the security.
Is this a maintenance item that can be ordered by the EC or does it have to be done by a special resolution?
Also 38% of the units have their mailbox unlocked at the moment. Most of these are tenanted properties.
Can we do anything to ensure that these mail boxes remain locked?
We think that having the boxes unlocked is one problem that is inviting a thief to come around and pilfer all the boxes.
