A new Strata Manager entered the scene and as an Owner/Occupier I was somewhat annoyed that there was no vote held for the changeover. We had painting; new camera installations; carpet replaced; and a new Intercom system installed within the first 3 months! A lot of money, spent all at once. I complained because the outlay was to be compensated by Owners in next Owners Corp dues. These undertakings should have been staggered, as none were urgent, and some unnecessary IMO. It was like someone (probably the person who changed Managers) who took advantage and found a pot of money to spend and had a wonderful time. Our BC fees went from $4000 to $5000 over 6 years, and in the current year it will be $6000, BOOM! Angry, hell yes! Did I mention the intercom system took 5 months from beginning to completion?
