Just an observation. We have a rather strict committee who insists balconies be kept neat and tidy, no washing, nothing overhanging, nothing is to be stored in the parking spaces, etc… And that’s fair enough.

But when it comes to pot plants, these rules get overlooked – and the main offenders are committee members and their friends.

Case in point – the “balcony nazi” on the committee has sprawling flowering plants hanging off her balcony across the facias. These are cream-coloured cement rendered facias – and they’re being stained and dirtied by her plants. So I find the whole thing hippocritical. It seems there’s one rule for plants, and one rule for other items.

Another example – she cracks down when anybody leaves anything in their parking space. Except her friend who has two large, permanent pot plants in his parking space.

I have no interest in plants. If I wanted a garden, I would be living in a house or something that had a private courtyard … but I can understand plants and gardens are a hobby for some people. Okay, so model trains are my hobby. Would that make it right for me to set up a model train layout that overhangs my balcony, or put one in my parking space. Of course not… and I wouldn’t have the ordasity to do that!

Again, not really a question… Just an interesting observation.
