      Hi,

I have requested permission from the EC to park on an unused driveway (we have 2 street access for our strata complex) this access is not the access for the garages, for a short period of time no more than 1 hour duration.  With this access I can park close to my apartment for short visits home.  The EC denied my request.  I took them to mediation and the mediator tried in vain to come to a compromise with the chairman of the EC, he flatly refused any compromise on the grounds that the original plans have the other entrance as the main entrance and this entrance is for emergency vehicles only, although emergency vehicles, on the rare occasion they have been needed, use the other entrance.

I have the option to take this to adjudication, what do you think my chances are with the CTTT.

      McCully,
Have you offered the OC consideration for these proposed rights?

It is amazing how offering some $$’s can assist in persuading the OC.

You may wish to look at getting a basic form of a licence/deed drawn up detailing what you propose to do and where.

      Good luck

The reason Mr Strata's suggestion sounds good is because perhaps there are others who would like the same priviledge that you are asking for. So perhaps it is not a matter of whether it is reasonable for a person to use that potential short-term parking spot, rather it may be a matter of who that person should be.

It's definitely who the person is, we have a bully for a chairperson, if you don't agree with him then you get no privileges, we live in a dictatorship and i'm not submissiveWink.

I too agree with Mr Strata, but if your EC Chairman is a dictator and you're a submissive, I'd suggest that you put your request, including a monetary inducement and the CTTT's preference for a compromise, all in the form of a Motion on the Agenda of your Plan's next AGM.

Dictatorial Chairpeople don't usually send out Preliminary Notices to AGMs, so you may need to find out when the next AGM is so that you can get your Motion in, and on the Agenda before the cut-off date.
