In the headlong rush to apartment living for all sorts of reasons other than it’s the kind of lifestyle you want, some people might be en route for an experience where they make themselves and their new neighbours miserable.

On the other hand, you might fit right in and wonder why you never did it before.

And if you are already there, you might wonder why everybody seems to be out of step except you.

Take a moment to do this quiz  (now interactive) on our sister website Titlemagazine.com.au which will tell you which side of the picket fence (and quarter acre block) you belong.

Re your quiz, I beg to differ on parking thieves, at least those that don’t live in the building.  There is no legal way to prevent them thieving – police won’t attend as it’s private property, even when the thief is blocking access to someone else’s garage so they can’t get their car out to go to work (it has happened to me), the council will not get involved and say they don’t have the power, and wheel clamping is illegal in NSW.  The council’s response was that it was the block’s responsibility to install gates with access cards, but when there are 2 vehicle entrances and 10 out of 12 units are rented, the logistics of managing the system are just impractical.

The NSW Government’s recent review of strata legislation was a complete waste of time as regards this problem and it shows no sign of doing anything constructive on the issue.
