Our unit (late 60's block in the eastern suburbs) has a leak in its flat roof which is impacting on the ceiling of our apartment. The roof deck above is on the title of our property. The question has arisen as to the responsibility for the repairs. The strata manager has said as the roof space is on our title, we are responsible for the maintenance. Is this correct? The strata manager has got a quote for us for $10k which is for resurfacing the whole roof, not the small area which is causing the problem.

      Hi Cameron

In order to advise on whether roof space owned by you, you will need to review the strata plan.

Further, information regarding the installation of any items on the roof since registration of the strata plan is required.
