Suspicion is afoot in my rural strata managed unit block. Small items are going missing from gardens and things are being rearranged without consent.

As a tenant, do I have the right to padlock my strata managed back garden to prevent this unwanted entry onto the property and stop things walking and needing to be replaced constantly?

I am not the only resident this is happening to, and not wanting to cause extra stress to the already fractured strata committee where the suspect lies, I don’t want to confront the suspect without evidence, or buy another expensive hose!

As a tenant you are entitled to a secure home. Assuming you have exclusive use of the garden, buy a padlock and let your rental agent know what you have done and why (and offer them a spare key).
