It’s one of the truisms of apartment living – renters don’t complain … they just move somewhere better.
That’s not always the case but tenants could be forgiven for thinking that nobody is listening to them for the simple reason that nobody cares.
However, that is no longer the case. You stories and observations about being a tenant in Australia are about to come under close scrutiny thanks to a doctoral study at Griffith University in Queensland. If you are or have ever been a tenant and you have something to say, they are listening.
This is what their website says: “We are investigating what it is about rental housing (the places and spaces people rent and the various conditions of renting) that may contribute to people who rent having a sense of home, a sense of connection to local neighbourhoods and community and a sense of thriving and well-being – or not, as the case may be.”
The research, for a doctorate, is being undertaken by Angela Ballard and you can post your story anonymously on their website or even download an app and post a video.
The rental doctor will see you now.
