    Hi

We own in a strata scheme of 4 villas in NSW. There is only one visitor car space which incredibly is right beside our front door step. This means that if a car parks there we have a space of literally 20 or 30cm to walk through to get out of our place onto the driveway. It is our only access into and out of our home. With two young children and prams etc it is impossible if a car parks there. Also if there was an emergency it would be very difficult for anyone to get into or out of our villa. Our EC would never pass nyghing to help us with this. My question is is there a minimum width required for access into and out of a lot or what else we could do about the problem. Thanks

      Sydney – incredible is right!

Firstly, have a look on the Strata Title Plan to check the exact physical dimensions of the parking space, because it may be that irrespective of what markings may be on the ground, there’s a corridor between the end of the designated space and your Villa.

Post again when you’ve checked the Plan.

Hi Whale. Thanks for your reply. The dimensions on the strata plan have the visitors car space at 275 cm abutting straight onto our front door step with no indicated corridor between the parking space and our front door step. I thought the minimum car spacewidth for visitor parks was meant to be 250cm wide. Which would seem to only allicate us a 25cm corridor at the most to gain access to our place. Which is pretty much impossible as we have found out. And what happens if there is a fire or something with a car parked there? Anyway any advice would be most appreciated.
