Who can arrange for a Warranty Service Visit?

      Dear Flat Chat,

      Can any owner by-pass the OC Committee and contact a company to arrange for a warranty period repair to a Common Property doorway?

      Several years ago our OC had new security gates and garage doors installed at our Melbourne apartment block. The warranty period for these ends this year. There are a few small issues that need fixing by the company.

      The OC Committee was made aware of these faults early last year but took no action even though they were reminded several times of the need to attend to the matter before end of warranty.

      Can owners other than those on the OCC contact the company to arrange for the faults to be made good before the warranty period expires? (We have 12 owners, 8 of whom live in the building. It is an OCC of 3 )

      Thank you. We would love to have our repairs done within the warranty period and are interested in reading what is the correct procedure for this.

    PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum.
