Hi everyone. I live in an art deco apartment block of 19 two bedroom units. One landlord has decided to build a wall to divide the living area from the sunroom and create another bedroom. They did not seek OC/EC permission and when complaints were made to our local council they were granted retrospective permission. Residents have been complaining about these landlords for over 20 years as they were running the unit as a backpacker accomodation but only recently after a long court case was I able to have this practice stopped.

Since this apartment is now a three bedroom unit and has a larger amount of people using utilities and wear and tear on common property and needing extra hard wired smoke alarms etc, can we increase the levies to cover the extra costs incurred by the other owners?

Any thoughts and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
