This is in regard to a 32 unit strata in NSW. The building is 40 years old.
The EC proposed , without advice from a consultant, to replace the doors and windows for a figure of around $800,000 and a additional levy was raised to cover this along with other items.
That decision is now being challenged by a vast majority of Owners who want a consultant brought in and have each apartment audited to see if it’s necessary to have the doors and windows replaced.
Could you please advise what type of consultant should be brought in and can you recommend a few,
It has been suggested to use a window and door company, which would be used further down the track, but some Owners are reluctant to have them come in at this stage because they are in the business of supplying same.
The Owners would prefer to have an independent firm come in and advise.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
