I have an apartment opposite mine owned by someone who has been renting it out for the last few years and is now intending on renovating and moving in.
He has become increasingly difficult as he has fought with our strata manager, challenged having to pay for by-laws for a new ceiling, etc and has sent me a couple of abusive messages because I wouldn’t back him for his request for sliding stacking doors (others objected as it would change the front of the building).
Yesterday the Strata Manager sent the Committee a message that he wants to start his renovations in May. Two hours later he contacted the Manager and accused a member of the Committee of informing his tenants (their lease is up in April) that he is going to renovate and that they are breaking their lease.
As we are all at work and none of us know his tenants, I fail to see how this could happen between midday and 3pm! I suspect he wants to claim lost of rent against the Strata and blame us.
I am concerned at his behaviour as I have two Burmese cats that are now three years old and I obtained permission to have them before I got them. However, he claims he has allergies to everything and I am worried he could put in a bogus complaint out of spite that my cats are affecting his allergies.
They are completely indoors and would never have any contact with him. Am I being paranoid or should I be worried? I have no intention of giving up my cats when none of us have done anything wrong.
