On enquiry to our Strata Manager regarding an owner’s renovation works which involves some encroachment on common property ( skylight in the roof of town house and removal of ceiling), we were advised of a Renovation Application process and from which requires special by-laws etc.

After 16 years on our EC we have never come across this before, although there have been renovations in the complex.

Has anyone experienced these? There is evidently a requirement for the applicant to pay the costs of any by-law registration.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum.
