What permissions are need to replace tiles with timber flooring?

      I am getting mixed responses to questions about replacing original floor tiles where they are located in a hallway or kitchen area.

      Is this a ‘minor’ or ‘major’ renovation?

      In other words, do these areas require waterproofing since they are attached directly to a concrete slab – but are in areas not necessarily classified as ‘wet’?

      This question keeps coming up where lot owners wish to install timber flooring throughout their apartments, including the kitchen and hallway area.

      Installing the timber flooring is a ‘minor’ renovation, but the tiling……?
