DISCLAIMER

Advice offered on this website is not an alternative to professional legal advice and we strongly recommend that you consult a specialist strata lawyer or other strata professional before embarking on any course of action related to your question.

Occasionally, edited versions of posted questions or quotes from your comments may be used for the Flat Chat column in the Sydney Morning Herald. However, every effort will be taken to protect your identity, even if you have chosen not to do so.

However, if you are concerned about your story appearing in print, please make that clear at the end of your post.

REGISTRATION & ANONYMITY

Firstly, please don’t use a screen name that makes you easily identifiable. Your screen name or nickname is different from your Username – the one you use to log in with – and can be changed at any time by logging in and going to your profile. Your Username is not visible to other users and can’t be changed once you have registered.

This web forum is intended to allow as free and frank as possible an exchange of views on strata matters. That’s why we encourage you not to identify yourself or give information that may lead to your identification or that of your neighbours, strata plan, strata professionals or any other companies or individuals with whom you may be in dispute. That way you have the freedom to say what you think without fear of legal action against you or us.

Please type your State in the ‘location’ slot when you are filling in your profile at registration – strata laws differ hugely across Australia and advice for one state may be inappropriate for another.

Forum Etiquette

We retain the right to alter your posts to remove personal attacks and abusive language as well as, occasionally, to help you express your point more clearly.

Single users logging in under multiple names is not permitted on this website and anyone detected doing this – and they usually are – will be banned from the Forum.

Companies using the Forum to promote themselves or their services may also be excluded, depending on the circumstances.

The Webmaster’s decision in all these matters is final.
