      Real estate agents grrr

An item I am finding increasingly frustrating is when looking to purchase an investment property. Here in Brisbane real estate agents apparently are struggling to obtain simple BC general or AGM minutes . They are encouraging potential buyers to submit a contract and get the lawyer to do the searches. I simply walk away from them as I don’t believe a potential owner should pay unnecessary costs when the owner can access this material for free.
With increasing Strata costs – insurance etc it is important to understand what are possible pre existing building issues. Are others observing this lazy trend?

If you require such, and they aren’t initially presented, I’d be requiring the agent to giddy up and go get them. You’ll wait. I’d assume they would expect to get these given by the owner. If you liked the property, I imagine you can get the owner to allow you to permission to approach the manager and do your own search. That’s what I did, and I like it, as I then get information not available to the prospective competition for the place.
