So.. all strata building were required to install child window safety locks as per new Act by 13 March 2018.
Will this be inspected by government authority/Fair Trading, etc. to confirm that all buildings are compliant with this section of the Act?
If not, what about those buildings that don’t have such devices installed yet?
Also, what if the locks installed are removed down the line, either due to change of owners who do not have children or tenants who couldn’t care to have them in place and ensure they are engaged when child/children are in the room? As I understand the requirement is to have them installed but not have them engaged/locked at all time.
Once the locks are installed, is it Owners Corporation’s responsibility to ensure that their building remains compliant and to engage a professional to inspect all lots from time to time that locks are still in place?
