I’m a lot owner in small lot of 4 and we currently have the strata managed by 3rd party, recently two of the lot owners have contacted the strata company indicating they would like to return to self management.

Previously the property have been self managed and over the years there has been very little forward thinking in in terms of maitenance, safety, budgetting and generally being a responsible owners corporation. I don’t believe the owners corporation has the skill/knowledge to effective manage the property in line with the required guidelines and legislation.

I’m cocerned that at the next AGM, they will vote out the current Strata manager to save on costs, and they will try to self manage again

What action can I take to prevent this type of situation?

BTW, the property is in QLD.

My first post – please be gentle

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
