Our building recently installed security cameras in common areas (garage) and outside entry doors.  They have worked in being able to identify illegal and security related issues for the building.  Recently it appears the strata committee has used the camera vision to identify residents that are doing the wrong thing eg dumping unwanted goods outside on the footpath.  Some residents are concerned that with no clear guidelines for the use of the security camera footage, it is at the discretion of the committee as to how the vision is used and people are feeling spied on.

Should the committee develop use guidelines and have these approved by residents?
