Solar panel – instructed by strata to pay for insertion of by-law

      In Oct 2010, I informed the strata of my intention to install pannels.

      6 of 7 owners wre agreeable to me doing this (3 were also intending to install)

      An application and owners agreement document (with signatures) was submitted to strata.

      Strata informed me that I was to find my own lawyer and pay for the by law to be put in. The cost was high so I withdrew my application.

      I have since found out last night that my friend did hers without the by law. The owners there met and informed their strata of their intention.

      Can someone advice me what is the right process or thing to do.

      I have spoken to the installer who tells me that no tiles or beams will be affected. The structure will be anchored to the rafters.
