This is a NSW Strata of 32 units going for 40 years.

In the past EC meetings were held and chaired by the elected chairman.

Over the last year or so the newly appointed SM, appointed by their employer, has attended the EC meetings, probably asked by the Secretary of the EC, to attend.

Our question is who has the authority to ask the SM to attend an EC meeting, and who authorised to pay for their attendance.

The other members of the EC do not know that the SM is going to attend until they front up at the ECM.

One would suspect that the Sec. and Chairman have no confidence in running the meeting and have to rely on the SM to advise.

There are other members of the EC who have experience in these matters and could chair the meeting if asked.

In fact some have much more knowledge than the SM about the strata and could be of assistance at no cost.
