A comment occurred to me prompted by a post elsewhere:  It can be useful when advocating in favour of some expense to note how small a big number seems when expressed per unit. In our case with over a hundred units, some expense that seems a lot expressed as $X,000 can seem much less when it is pointed out that it is less than $X0 each. Eg. ‘Let’s spend five thousand dollars on improving this community facility, it will only cost fifty bucks each and be so much nicer. Even if you don’t use that particular facility, or any of the facilities, fixing them up adds a lot more than $50 to the value of your unit.’
