Good article last week. I have just had my first experience of owners being saddled with long-term contracts via a formal meeting even before owners took possession – seems a very sharp practice.

Can I suggest you could publish some follow-up comments not only for AFR readers but also to reach people in the Qld Govt who may be looking at legislative improvements – in particular, possible inclusion in any new legislation that strata owners in any development must be able to conduct a formal review of contracts set up before they became owners and are able to amend or rescind such contracts, if decided by a majority vote of perhaps 75% – such ability to stand for a period of twelve months following completion of the development.

Your articles will certainly get into the offices of people in Brisbane dealing with issues like this.
