In a strata where the Sec/Tsr has ruled the Strata Committee for nearly 30 years – it is now a 2 person show, made up of him and another who serves as his echo – the shenanigans are chronic.
This week I received an email from the managing agent informing me that the AGM would be held in July.
I quickly wrote back asking “why in July when we had the last one in Nov”?
No reply has been forthcoming. Odd to say the least, as the current managing agent is usually quick to respond.
Can an AGM be held so soon after the previous one?
Can I object to the cost of such an unnecessary extravagance, when there seems to be no basis for this change.
If the reason for an early AGM is that the Sec/Tsr cannot attend an AGM around the anniversary of last year’s AGM, then surely that’s his problem. He cannot impose on the owners the unnecessary expense on an early AGM just to suit his personal timetable, or can he?
I asked his echo on the SC for her views and she was unaware of the managing agent’s email on the AGM.
