I understand that the warranty period for new strata buildings starts on the date the building is completed. Under the Home Building Act the building is completed when the occupation certificate is issued. If my strata building only has an interim occupation certificate, does the warranty period start from the date this was issued or has it not started as no final occupation certificate has been issued. My Strata building is a block of 225 units which we have had possession of since September 2015. I have had conflicting advice from Fair Trading.
