Within 18 months of the NBN coming to your suburb, all copper wires will be disconnected … potentially leaving you without a back to base fire alarm or emergency lift phone.

Our friends at OCN have organised a seminar so you can find out what your building needs to do to ensure contined protection of residents and guests.

“Also, you can learn how lift consultants can cost-effectively assist you negotiate and optimise maintenance contracts, and provide expert guidance on upgrading or replacing aging or failed lifts,” they tell us.

“Typically, contracts are biased towards the writer; the lift company.  Investigating the best option and tendering for an lift upgrade or replacement is not for the faint-hearted and full of traps for the inexperienced.  If you have a lift this seminar is for you.”

The guest speakers are Rex Henning, a director with Equity Elevator Management and former NBN consultant Guy Richards, an Engagement Specialist with Building Management Association of Australia.

The seminar is on  February 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at  Mitchell Theatre, Level 1, Sydney Mechanics’ School of Arts, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney, NSW 2000.

The cost is $16.50 for OCN members and $33 for non-members. Booking is essential. Click here for more details.
