I have been trying to locate a reliable reference for the definition of a ‘penalty point’ and came across this:

      https://www.findlaw.com.au/articles/4270/what-on-earth-is-a-penalty-unit-and-why-is-it-a-pu.aspx

In Queensland, 1 penalty unit is the equivalent of $100, while, in New South Wales it’s $110. Finally, committing an offence in Victoria is an expensive proposition, 1 penalty unit there is worth $119.45.

Does anyone have another reference? Couldn’t find anything on NCAT or Fair Trading websites

This is from the NSW Local Government Act:

Penalties for offences are expressed in penalty units. Under section 17 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act 1999, the amount of a penalty unit is currently $110.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
