My Strata Committee recently approved my installation of an awning on my balcony, which will be attached to common property. We are now having a General Meeting of owners to approve, by special resolution, my submission.

A relevant bylaw has been attached to the meeting agenda and I will need 75% of owners to approve the installation.

Can the SC decide, at the GM, not to put their hands up for the approval despite having approved the installation at their recent SC meeting? If they do not support me what can I say and do about this at the meeting?

A number of SC members also approved the installation via email some months prior to their SC meeting. The awning will be wholly within my property and there was one there previously.
