I’m an owner and member of the EC for the building that I live in. We have a mix of owner/residents and owners on the EC, our biggest problem is getting members to make decisions.

We have some repairs that have been quoted for, but each time we try to reach a decision, someone thinks we should get more quotes or do more investigation.

As an EC member I am frustrated by the reluctance of other members to make decisions, and as an owner I am concerned that the lack of interest will eventually impact the property value.

Any suggestions for getting people involved ?

Just a quick suggestion. Have the Chair put motions to accept quotes to the meeting; i.e put the motions on the agenda and have it put to the meeting. At least you are deciding to accept the quote or declining to accept the quote.

If the EC continually declines quotes for necessary work then there are other ways to get it done.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
