hi, my tenant insists on living in the apt while the bathroom is being done. Now as he will not be able to use the toilet, can I pay $50.00 to the tenant next door to allow him to use their toilet facilities? I'm guessing it's only for 2 days. The next solution would be a portaloo in the balcony – something I think OC would not be impressed about. Any suggestions?

Are you serious? My suggestion is that you give the tenant a rent “holiday” for a week and tell him to spend the money on a hotel room for two days. If he insists in staying in the apartment, you want it in writing from him that he will make his own toilet arrangements. Meanwhile, tell your tradies there will be financial penalties for not finishing the bathroom work within the specified time but a bonus for finishing it sooner.
