The Forum this week has been dominated by one topic – the unintended and generally unhelpful consequences of the Building Design Practitioners Act (DBPA).

Any law that is supposed to protect consumers (and their buildings) from dodgy operators but then triples the cost of essential repairs – meaning that, ultimately, owners corporations and individuals will delay or even abandon repairs and maintenance – is not a good law.

But there’s more to strata life than flawed laws. One Flatchatter wants to know, if they have responsibility for tiles in an exclusive use area, and the OC dogs them up to repair common property, who’s responsible for restoring the tiles.

One Flatchatter says, they’re your tiles, so it’s your responsibility. But we beg to differ. You can have your say HERE.

How to ask and answer questions
