The biggest story to land in the Forum this week blew up into something else entirely as I was editing it.

Our long-standing Flatchatter Gloucester19 had written an extended post about how they were thwarted in their attempts to be allowed to attend strata committee meetings AND how the Tribunal in Victoria also denied them the right to have motions included in AGM agendas.

I thought this was worth a story all on its own, especially because at the end of it, Gloucester19 bemoaned the fact that the expert panel’s report into strata in the state had been handed to the government but not released.

I was just about to hit “publish” when, as if by magic, the report appeared, quickly followed by the government’s response.

So that set me off on another quest – at first to work out what the government was going to do about party flats and other short-term holiday letting (answer something between not very much and nothing). 

We’ll be getting into the porposed changes in Victoria over the next week or two but meanwhile we’d love to hear your thoughts.
