@JimmyT recently asserted in a Flat Chat email newsletter that Tassie is the only state in which by-laws can be created by the management committee.  Fortunately Tassie is not quite this unruly.  Section 92 of the Strata Titles Act 1998 states that by-laws may be created, amended or rescinded by a resolution of the body corporate.  Phew.  Of course the age of the Act gives you a hint that there is a lot that needs updating and improvement in our strata legislation.  Owners who are interested in helping push for improvements are warmly invited to join the new Owner s Corporation Network Tasmania group which has recently been formed.  Contact me by direct message.

PLEASE ... If your property is not in NSW, mention its location (state). Don't identify companies or individuals by name. Don't mention or promote your company or services. Keep acronyms and initials to a minimum. Please, don’t use “quote” unless there is a specific point to which you wish to refer, then highlight (define) that specific passage before you click on "quote". Otherwise just use reply. THANKS.
