Granny flats Dependent Person Units (DPUs) seemed like a great way to ease the rental shortage and fit more people into our bulging suburbs.  But this aspect of the affordable housing program hasn’t been without its problems.

You’ll find a Sydney Morning Herald story on Morris Iemma’s Granny Flat’s initiative HERE.

There’s a NSW Planning department factsheet on Granny Flats HERE.

There’s a Domain feature on the new breed of Granny Flats (and a 76 percent increase in their approvals) HERE.

A story from earlier this year on moves to loosen up the laws in Victoria is HERE.

And there’s a posting from an unfortunate tenant who discovered her rented home was about to be demolished HERE.
