Our four unit block has two large two level units (part of a heritage listed building) with two new single storey units added on. Recently the OC changed the fire alarm system so that all units had just two sensors.

We previously had ten sensors; there are timber floors between the two large units and feel more are needed. The single sensor on our lower floor is potentially two closed doors away from the kitchen.

The OC voted (reluctantly) to allow us two more sensors but the managing agent told us this was against strata laws. She was unable to tell us which laws.

We'd very much appreciate knowing the law on this.

    Thank you
