JimmyT eats his words… and they taste great!

Unless you are avid listeners to our podcasts, you may not realise that a month or so ago Jimmy took himself off to Saigon, Vietnam, for a couple of weeks of intensive writing.

You may also not know that he is an experienced tour guide and travel writer.  So if you like his writing style and enjoy vicarious travel yourself – or are looking for inspiration for your next jaunt overseas – he has compiled a list of the interesting food he enjoyed (or didn’t) while he was away.

What does this have to do with strata? Well, as we always say, it’s much easier to lock up and leave a flat than a house, knowing little or no harm will come to it while you are away.

Food in Vietnam is generally sensational, and it’s not just phos and banh mis, but the food provided for other visitors is pretty good too.

Why would you eat Thai or Indian or Japanese in Vietnam? Because some Vietnamese food for tourists is blanded down for European (read British) and American palates.

So take a break from your strata stresses and join Jimmy on his culinary adventures, in a two-part guide to eating his way through Saigon with lots of yummy pictures, on mildrover.com.

Enjoy and please subscribe (for free) because the website also has some terrific travel offers curated for people just like us.
