As we never tire of saying on this website, there are almost as many differences between strata law in separate states as there are similarities.
So we are pleased to announce a connection with one of the most authoritative voices in the Queensland body corporate community.
For over five years Chris Irons was Queensland’s Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management. Now as sole director of Strata Solve, Chris is an independent strata consultant, helping clients to untangle their strata issues with tailored, practical solutions.
Chris brings to the table over two decades of public sector leadership and policy development. He is a nationally accredited mediator and sees a considerable role for mediation in dealing with strata issues.
Chris is also a frequent media and content contributor on strata issues and will now provide articles about developments in Queensland strata to Flat Chat as well as dipping into the Forum with advice on specific issues.
Chris has a reputation for getting to the heart of strata problems, with Strata Solve focussed on helping his clients to save time, money and emotional toil through dispute prevention and resolution.
Chris is President of Strata Community Association (Qld), which is Queensland’s peak strata body for strata managers and service providers. SCA (Qld) works closely with Government, Members of Parliament and other stakeholder groups on reforms to Queensland’s strata legislation.
In this role, Chris represents SCA (Qld) on the Community Titles Legislation Working Group and the Stakeholders’ Forum convened by his former Office.
A proud Nundah resident, Chris is also President of Northside Connect, a not-for-profit provider of community and legal services for vulnerable clients on Brisbane’s northside.
Chris can often be found at cafes, bars, barbers and other retailers in Brisbane’s northern suburbs and adds that he is also the “human slave to a happily-retired former racing greyhound, which has all the necessary body corporate approvals.”
Queensland-specific questions on the Forum will be brought to Chris’ attention but if readers want individual advice they can contact him through Strata Solve by clicking on that link or on the ad on this page.
