In-apartment parking is no pie in the sky

Apartments in a luxury block planned for Brisbane’s New Farm river-front will have parking for the owners’ cars right next to their apartments.

And that will “propel Brisbane into an elite group of cities with luxury residences that feature in-home Sky Garages” according to developers Spyre, the company behind plans for six-level project.

Two of the apartments at the planned Moray House will feature Sky Garages where residents will be able to pull in off the street, enter a remote-control operated car lift, and 18 seconds later drive into their own garage in their apartments above the Brisbane River.

When completed, claims Spyre, the development will put Brisbane on a similar footing to cities such as Singapore and Miami in the United States, where developments feature in-residence Sky Garages. Sky Garages are also planned for a development in Melbourne.

“The Sky Garage will appeal to luxury vehicle enthusiasts who want privacy as well as the additional security of garaging their car in their apartment rather than using regular basement parking,’’ Spyre director Andrew Malouf said.

The development features views of the Story Bridge and follows the line of the Riverwalk from Howard Smith Wharves to the Eagle Street precinct in the CBD.

For residents with Sky garages, two other car spaces can be accessed in the parking garage at the bottom of the development.

Moray House will also feature full floor length garden beds and the complex will have direct and private access to Brisbane’s Riverwalk.

The interiors include the finishes in Chambord stone, European oak herringbone flooring and bespoke timber joinery. The chef-grade kitchens feature WOLF appliances an integrated Liebherr fridge and freezer and VZUG dishwasher.

“Each apartment can be individually curated for the new owners with custom components,’’ Mr Malouf said. “These include a lap pool, Sky Garages, wellness rooms and personalised gyms.”

Residence 6, a penthouse across two levels in Moray House, featuring a roof garden, sold in January for $15.75 million, breaking the record for Brisbane’s most expensive apartment sale.

Residence 4 sold for $9 million to a couple who were relocating to Brisbane from Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Apartments range in size from 324 square metres to the 800 sq metre penthouse. To find out more visit morayhouse.com.au.
