I live in a block in Sydney with its own strata committee. There are three other buildings each with a committee. AGMs and levies are specific to each building but they share common property and elect one person from each to be on a Building Management Committee (BMC).
In January the City of Sydney Council altered us of an application to instal a laundromat running 24/7. Our building lodged objections to the council. Five months later when I had not heard anything I contacted the City of Sydney Council who told me the other three buildings (BMC) 3 committee members voted to allow the change of use and also the 24.7 operation. Bottom line my building has been outvoted.
